All YouTube channels can now use neural network-assisted translation of broadcasts in Yandex Browser. This feature is available for streams in English, German, French, Spanish and Italian. Users can watch presentations of technological innovations, games, space launches and interviews with celebrities in Russian without waiting for the end of the live broadcast.
Previously, the broadcast translation function was only available on some YouTube channels via Yandex Browser. However, now this technology has become available on the entire video hosting service. Over the year, users have watched more than 20 thousand hours of live video, and the developers have continued to improve the technology. They significantly improved the quality of translation and modified the infrastructure. Thanks to this, the bandwidth of video cards used to process broadcasts on Yandex servers doubled, and the number of streams that users can simultaneously watch with translation increased by 100 times. Thus, all YouTube channels can now take advantage of the Browser's new feature that allows them to watch videos with translation and cope with high load.
The broadcast translation feature is available in open beta testing mode and can be evaluated by any Yandex Browser user on a computer, smartphone or tablet. To use this feature, just open a live broadcast on YouTube in one of the supported languages, for example, NASA Live, and click on the "Translate broadcast" button.
