"Station Midi" - a new smart speaker from "Yandex" with a neuromodule

Sales of a new speaker from Yandex called Station Midi started today. This device is equipped with a neural processor, which allows it to respond even more accurately to user requests. In addition, Station Midi now supports offline mode in the Zigbee smart home ecosystem.

The new model has dimensions of 96 × 96 × 110 mm and weighs less than 1 kg. The speaker cabinet is made of plastic and fabric. A monochrome LED display and a circular LED backlight are integrated. The touch control panel is located at the top of the unit.

The audio system includes a 63mm subwoofer, two 20mm tweeters and two passive radiators for bass reinforcement. It provides a sound range of 70 to 20,000 Hz and has a total power of 24 W.

The active speaker system is able to automatically adjust the sound according to the size of the room, and the presence of four built-in microphones provides the voice assistant "Alice" the ability to recognize user requests even in noisy environments. In addition to listening to music, the speaker allows you to find out the weather forecast, call a cab, make an order in a store, control lighting or run your favorite show. Integration with smart home devices is realized via Zigbee technology.

We should not forget that Station Midi is not just a speaker, but a smart speaker with built-in voice assistant Alice. It is now equipped with a separate neural processor with a performance of 1.2 TOPS, which significantly increases the speed of processing requests, recognizing people and commands. The speaker has four microphones located at the top of the speaker, which allows "Alice" to work effectively with voice commands.

The functionality of Alice in the Midi Station is similar to other devices: controlling your smart home, providing news, playing music and audiobooks, searching your phone, informing you about weather, traffic, orders at The Commissary, and more. With different usage scenarios, the speaker offers many uses, including the ability to send notifications to your phone when someone comes home.
